Company Introduction
Meena Agency Limited (MAL) is a Company forming part of the Meena Group of Companies based at Jamnagar in the state of Gujarat. It has taken over, through the process of succession, the running business of the Group’s flagship firm M/s. Meena Agency (MA) which was formed primarily to do trading and marketing of calcined bauxite.
We are engaged primarily in the business of trading and marketing of Calcined Bauxite, which is used in manufacture of Industrial Refractories. We are also involved in trading of refractories in a limited manner.
The foundation of organization was laid in 1981.
Prior to that, Meena Agency Private Limited (MAPL) was virtually a non-operative Company and it had very limited commercial activity. However, subsequent to take over of the flagship partnership of the group M/s.Meena Agency, MAPL has effectively become the major frontline group company, having commenced commercial activities with effect from 1st of October 2004.

Company promoted a joint venture company under the name of M/s Hindustan Fusal Pvt. Ltd. at Hosur in state of Tamilnadu, which is a specialized refractory material manufacturing company, producing White fused alumina and Brown fused alumina.
Company had been working on the same model in association with M/s Gujarat Minerals Development Corporation (GMDC), as a contract manufacturer, manufacturing Calcined Bauxite for GMDC and operating the entire GMDC plant on contract basis.
Company has set up a Sponge Iron manufacturing company in the name & style of M/s. Hindustan Calcined Metals Pvt. Ltd. in joint venture with S.K.Modi Group at Bellary in state of Karnataka.
MAPL entered into an agreement with Tata Refractories Limited, Belpahar a long term customer of MAPL for setting up of an integrated manufacturing facility of Calcined Bauxite & Refractories products in Samakhiyali – Kutch. 2004 - During the above transformations - from family owned outfit to a private limited firm and then to a Public Limited - Joint Stock Company.

Since last 10 years the firm has also evolved a business model, under which it actually operated as a contract manufacturer. As per this model, Meena Agency has successfully worked with major companies across country. To name a few

In duration of 1998-2003, the company had been working on the same model in association with M/s Gujarat Minerals Development Corporation (GMDC), as a contract manufacturer, manufacturing Calcined Bauxite for GMDC and operating the entire GMDC plant on contract basis. Thereafter, Meena Agency also uses to market the said Calcined Bauxite. The business of operating the GMDC mines was discontinued since March 2003, upon expiry of the contract.
Subsequently, Meena Agency started getting calcinations work done through a few local Gujarat based calcinations units, after buying Raw Bauxite from GMDC as well as from certain other local mines. Meena Agency has emerged as a highly focused company engaged in marketing of Calcined bauxite to a large number of well known companies across the country. It has embarked upon creating its own manufacturing of Calcined Bauxite as well as in-house grinding facilities for grinding Calcined Bauxite as well as petrochemical coke. As a measure of corporate itisation of Business, the firm has been converted into a fully operative company with effect from 1st October 2004 as explained later on. Seeing the ample Opportunity Company diversified into various businesses from trading of Bauxite to manufacturing of various products.
PROMOTERS & MANAGEMENT
In terms of management and administration of the business of the group, the Company is managed and controlled by Shri Pankaj J. Shah as the main promoter duly supported by his brothers & other Directors viz. Shri Yogeshbhai J. Shah, Shri Mayurbhai J. Shah & Mr. Hawaldar Singh.
Shri Pankajbhai is a graduate in commerce discipline and is the founder promoter of the group. He started the business of Meena Agency in 1981.
From 1977-1990 he also Served as the Chief Executive Officer of M/s Bombay Minerals Ltd., a company engaged in manufacture of Calcined minerals as well as industrial refractories. Being CEO, he was in charge of technical, commercial and marketing aspects of the said unit and use to handle calcinations division, refractory division as well as marketing functions.
Since 1991, he fully concentrated on the business development and growth of Meena Agency. Under his leadership, the business has grown both vertically as well as horizontally.
